Heaven & Hell

Heaven and Hell both currently exist and will be filled by inhabitants that God already has Knowledge of, either in eternal ecstasy or in eternal suffering with no more death.

Then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers. (Quran 2:24)

Those who disbelieved in Our Signs, We shall burn them in the Fire. As often as their skins are roasted through, We shall replace them with new skins that they may taste the punishment (Quran 4:56)

"The fire which the sons of Adam (a) burn is only equivalent to one-seventieth (the heat) of the Fire of Hell." (Hadith)

"Whatever you perceive as the severest heat (in summer) and whatever you perceive of the severest cold (in winter) is from the exhalation of Hell." (Hadith)

Believers who have sinned will be removed from Hell and put into Heaven by God's Mercy, but disbelievers and hypocrites will suffer therein forever.

"Some believers (in Islamic Monotheism) will be tormented (in Hellfire) until they become blackened (charred). Then they will be salvaged by Allah's Mercy and taken out and thrown by the Gates of Paradise. The inhabitants of Paradise will then splash water over them and they will sprout (just as seeds sprout) just as those in silt carried by a flood, then they would enter Paradise." (Hadith)

Verily, the hypocrites will be in the lowest depth (grade) of the Fire; no helper will you find for them. (Quran 4:145)

The ecstatic joys of Heaven and horrific torments of Hell can never be seen, heard or imagined sensually in this world, but are reserved for the Hereafter.

But those who believe (in Allah and Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds will be in flowering meadows of the Gardens of (Paradise). They shall have whatsoever they desire from their Lord! (Quran 42:22)

I have prepared for my righteous servants what no eye has ever seen and no ear has ever heard, nor has it occurred in the human heart. Thus recite if you wish, "And no soul knows of what joy has been kept hidden for them." (Quran 32:17). (Hadith)

On that Day none will punish as He will punish. And none will bind (the wicked disbelievers and polytheists) as He will bind. (Quran 89:25-26)

The people of Heaven will be beautiful, healthy, happy and praise God as easily as breathing, whereas the people of Hell will be brutally violated, in despair, cry and beg forgiveness forever in vain.

"An announcer (in Paradise) will make this announcement: Verily, there is in store for you (everlasting) health and that you should never fall ill and that you live (for ever) and do not die at all. And that you would remain young and never grow old. And that you would always live in affluent circumstances and never become destitute, as Allah, the Exalted and Glorious said: 'And it would be announced to them: "This is the Paradise! You have been made to inherit it for what you used to do."' (Quran 7:43)" (Hadith)

"...They would glorify and praise Allah as easily as you breathe." (Hadith)

"The people of Hell will be made to weep, and they will weep until they have no tears left. Then weep blood until they have as it were channels in their faces, if ships were put in them, they would float." (Hadith)

The palace homes in Heaven include gigantic hollowed out pearls with gold bricks, whereas the inhabitants of Hell will be thrown into huge pits and be surrounded by walls of fire.

"There would be a tent made of a pearl whose height towards the sky would be sixty miles. In each corner, there would be a family of the believer, out of sight of the others." (Hadith)

"I entered Paradise, where (I found myself) in a Palace made of gold..." (Hadith)

Verily We have prepared for the (wrongdoers and polytheists) a Fire whose walls will be surrounding them. (Quran 18:29)

Heaven contains servants and beautiful partners (whose beauty increases every week) whereas Hell contains unflinching punishing Angels and the devils and objects that people worshipped as false gods.

They will be on Thrones woven with gold and precious stones. Reclining thereon, face to face. Immortal youths will go around (serving) them. (Quran 56:15-7)

"Every person would have two spouses and the marrow of their shanks would glimmer beneath the flesh and there would be none without a spouse in Paradise." (Hadith)

"In Paradise there is a street to which they would come every Friday. The north wind will blow and would scatter fragrance on their faces and on their clothes and would add to their beauty and loveliness, and then they would go back to their family after having an added lustre to their beauty and loveliness, and their family would say to them: "By Allah, you have been increased in beauty and loveliness after leaving us," and they would say: "By Allah, you have also increased in beauty and loveliness after us." (Hadith)

And if you could see the when the Angels take away the souls of those who disbelieve; they smite their faces and backs, (saying): "Taste the punishment of the Blazing Fire." (Quran 8:50)

Certainly, you (disbelievers) and that which you are worshipping now besides Allah are (but) fuel for Hell! Surely, you will enter it! (Quran 21:98)

"The sun and the moon will be rolled into Hellfire on the Day of Resurrection." (Hadith)

The clothing of Heaven includes fine silks with gold embroidery and jewelry, whereas the clothing in Hell will be of burning pitch and binding yokes and chains.

Wherein they will be adorned with bracelets of gold and pearls and their garments therein will be made of silk. (Quran 22:23)

And you will see the sinners (denizens of Hell) that Day bound together in fetters. Their garments (will be made) of liquid pitch, and their faces covered with fire. (Quran 14:49-50)

Then, as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them. (Quran 22:19)

Edible things in Heaven include delicious meats, fruits and wines, whereas edibles in Hell include destructive thorns, putrid water and pus.

...with cups and jugs and a glass of flowing wine, wherefrom they will get neither any headache nor any intoxication. And with fruit that they may choose. And with the flesh of fowls that they desire. (Quran 56:18-21)

"The first meal of the people of Paradise will be Extra-lobe (caudate lobe) of fish-liver." (Hadith)

The description of Paradise which the pious have been promised (is that) in it are rivers of water, the taste and smell of which are not changed, rivers of milk of which the taste never changes, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of clarified honey (clear and pure) therein for them is every kind of fruit, and forgiveness from their Lord. (Are these) like those who shall dwell for ever in the Fire and be given to drink boiling water so that it cuts up their bowels? (Quran 47:15)

"They (the denizens of Hell) would be given the pus (extractions) of Hellfire's denizens to drink." (Hadith)

No food will there be for them but a bitter obnoxious thorny plant, which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. (Quran 88:6-7)

The trees in Heaven are made of gold and provide fruits and even clothing, whereas the zaqum tree of Hell has poisonous branches.

"There is not a tree in Paradise whose trunk is not made of gold." (Hadith)

"Tooba is a tree in Paradise, as wide as (what would require) a hundred years journey; the clothes of the people of Paradise come from the outer parts of its flowers." (Hadith)

Verily zaqum is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire, the shoots of its fruit-stalks resemble the heads of devils. (Quran 37:64-5)

"If just one droplet of zaqum (a tree in Hell) is dropped in this present worldly realm, it would have spoiled every living thing, so what do you think it would be like for those who take it as food?" (Hadith)

While the people of Hell suffer eternally, the people of Heaven will be reunited with their loved ones from Earth (believers) and receive the greatest delight in Heaven; to see God with their own eyes!

"... Then the veil will be lifted and they (the inhabitants of Paradise) will see Him. By Allah, Allah has not given them anything more dear and precious to them, that they should see him." (Hadith)
